going to use podcasts - that is new for me

Ah ha: I was not sure how I was going to use the computers in my classroom in kindergarten. Now I have some websites I will bookmark and try with my kiddos. This was a fabulous day, Jane!

Wow! I don't even know where to start! My big inspiration (a-ha) was to try harder to open up my classroom to the world. I am limiting my students by just sticking to the curriculum in our textbooks. I plan on using my own Ipod starting tomorrow to try and push kids and get them excited about reading. I will be buying video Ipod next payday! Can't wait till next class.

Podcasts from Itunes were new to me. An ah ha that I had was that I need to be using more technology in my classroom and that tech is not always going to be coming from my computer. It was a nice reminder for me about how motivating tech can be!

I will research more websites that will give me more info on beginning sounds and beginning like Starfall, Literacy Center, Earobics, etc. I have a better idea of how I will use the computers in my K classroom.

I loved all the center ideas using the laptops. I have many new resources to use to create these center activities and I can't wait to try them out with students. Thank you for a great day of learning, Jane! Excellent as always! :)

I love the podcasts! I think that they are a great way to visually support curriculum. I also learned to make programs (ie. starfall) so that kids only do what I want them to instead of playing on the full program...great way to focus!
My ah ha for the day was how technologically advanced our society is and how extremely important it is to not forget about that part of teaching. Technology is our future!

Amazing. I am so excited to get going on this. I am setting up individual student folders or work stations on classroom computers. I have put students pics and color coded their names based on the level of web activities, etc that they can work on. I am also excited to use the podcasts and united streaming. Hope Greg has lots of patience.

I was amazed to find out that I can download free podcasts from iTunes. I am really excited to try out some of the literacy websites on our Smartboard!

I have a lesson in the works using centers with laptops, incorporating the Houghton Mifflin Reading Series. My lightbulb was just that. I use technology whenever I can to engage student learning, but have never used laptops and centers. Thanks for the inspiration, your content and pace is very user-friendly!

This was a great day. I am ready to try a number of activities in my classroom.
I would like to set up centers, using movies from i-tunes and United Streaming. Hopefully, I will get closer to engaging the 21st century learners, engaging their minds more.

What am I going to do? I am going to take the time to keep exploring what is out there for us to do...The CDs are wonderful. I look forward to using these in my classroom

Ah Haa!: All this time I have been frustrated with how children work on Starfall.com and fly all around the website instead of sticking to the one I wanted them to do first, and then moving to the next one. Now, I know how to get them to just do the story we are focusing on!!! Yeah! Thanks....easy, but why didn't I learn this before from someone? Thank you! SHEL

Podcasting is so cool. I was aware of them but didn't know how to download them. Also thanks for all the wonderful websites. You did a wonderful job of making us beginners feel comfortable and able to risk.

It was great to see how we can use the ipods in class. I feel more comfortable with them and definitely want to take an ipod CIS class so I can learn even more for my students! I love that we have so many resources at our fingertips now. The hard part is figuring out which resource to use first! Thanks for a great day!

I can't wait to use United Streaming with my students. I feel like I have more differentiation opportunities and ideas. My students who are below level can now be more adequately addressed. LOVE the Smart board. I'm going to do all in my power to acquire one of these wonderful tools! Never been to a more useful workshop-statistics were so eye-opening. Great day! Worth 2 hours of sub planning.

Thanks Jane! I feel like I came away from today with so many possibilities. I want to use united streaming more to show my kiddos short clips and to keep my boys interested. I also want to create some centers with the stations that you had us explore. I hope to get quicker at creating new activities that includes more technology.

I'm not sure where to start.... I almost feel like I need to take a step back and look at the next month and choose just 1 of the MILLION ideas I am taking from today---- then just get that 1 idea going. I need to start small.... just 1 thing JILL.... just 1 thing at a time.

Thank you so much for all the learning and teaching tools that you have given me today. I am so excited to use the united stream line videos to help teach social studies and science. I also want to use the sesame street pod casts to teach vocabulary and engage students for journal writing. The internet sites you provided will allow me to use my computers more effectively in the classroom. THANK YOU!!

I am meeting with Greg on Monday to create a plan on how to implement computer activities as a whole class and as reading centers.
I have make a plan to observe my teammate using Smartboard and clickers.
Ah ha: EVERYTHING....and that I can really do this. It isn't as hard as it appears and that I have the resources and expertise at my fingertips.
The class was well organized with many available support members to help and share out. Jane was an excellent facilitator. Thanks for your time!

Tomorrow I already planned to use Chicka Chicka. Now, I will use Jane's station as to go over the top. Plus...I am anxious to use more United Streaming videos. Ah ha, the statistics and numbers from the Generation Zs were mind boggling. I appreciated all of the personal help from Greg, Ann Zimmer, Amy and of course, you are AWESOME, Jane.
